Adult ADHD screening and assessment

I offer both initial screenings as well as diagnostic assessments for adults who suspect they may live with ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).

ADHD assessment is about learning from the individual person, gathering information about their developmental history and exploring the potential of ADHD forming part of their make up.

Having a diagnosis of psychological distress and neurodivergence can be helpful. However, there are many reasons why someone may experience difficulties. This is why the process starts with a screening appointment. Only if there was sufficient suggestion of evidence for ADHD being present, will a full assessment process be considered.

The full assessment includes a psychological assessment, and ADHD specific appointment using validated diagnostic tools, and a review appointment to discuss a detailed written report with the findings from the assessment process. I may also ask for information from people close to you, to build a full picture.

During the review appointment we can discuss the written report and support options moving forward. The report will include relevant psychometrics and a case summary making use of accredited outcome measures for this purpose.

Prior to seeking an assessment for ADHD I advise adults to explore shared care options with their GP.

A fulfilling life is within reach

I want you to leave appointments feeling empowered, recognising the choices and options available to you. Discover how you can live a fulfilling life despite your health needs, with compassionate, evidence-based psychological support.
